"Reconciliation is all about Relationship" ~ Chief Marilyn Gabriel

These were some of the opening words spoken at Langley's "Working Towards Reconciliation" event this past weekend. Chief Marilyn Gabriel acknowledged all who had gathered and spoke about the importance of "taking steps to get to know each other better" before we welcomed the theme speaker Wab Kinew. It was in many ways a groundbreaking event as people from Langley filled the Yorkson Creek Middle School gym ready to respond to the Truth & Reconciliation Committee's Call to Action recommendations in their own community. I'm feeling grateful to have been a very small part of what feels like a critical and generations-long healing journey. And, this morning I'm waking up wanting to continue learning more. So, I decided to start the day watching Aboriginal 101: Wab Kinew's Walk Through History, http://www.cbc.ca/8thfire/2012/01/wab-kinews-walk-through-history.html. And, I'm looking forward to checking out Wab Kinew's 8th Fire Dispatcheshttp://www.cbc.ca/8thfire/blog.html over the next while.

I'm curious, what steps are you taking towards Truth & Reconciliation? How do we do this together?
