After Sunday Service at Murrayville site we are going to have Fair Trade Fair. Please come to the fair and have taste of Palestine, India, Philippines and more. M&S enthusiasts invite you to take a step outside of your box and have a walk-with-someone-you-have-not-met experience at the fair.
Focus of our event will be the United Church’s campaign Unsettling Goods: Choose Peace in Palestine and Israel. With the aim of supporting this campaign, the United Churches of Langley purchased an Advent Peace Box with the products from Palestine, through the Zatoun project. Zatoun ("olive" in Arabic) is an organization that sells fair trade products from Palestine to support the farmers of Palestine in the struggle for their livelihood and land. Funds from the sale of Zatoun products also help support an arts and education program for young people in Palestine and make it possible to plant olive trees inside Palestine, where many have been destroyed during the occupation. Purchasing products that support Palestinian livelihoods is one element of the Unsettling Goods campaign. For more information, see http://zatoun.com.
