GOOD THEOLOGY FOR GOD’S WORLD is a series of evening public lectures and daytime workshops on theological topics designed to get you thinking and acting for the good of God’s World.

The first session is coming up at the end of this month.

Theology for Non-Theologians

Rev. Dr Richard Topping

This first of three sessions will look at central topics within the Christian church:

· What does it mean to be human?
· Jesus and justice
· Trinity and community
· The church and the Holy Spirit

Come and engage with these topics! Let us explore what it means to be "the church" in the 21st Century. In our discussion of these themes, we will pay particular attention to the challenges and prospects for Christian confession in a time like ours.

We invite you to join us for a free introductory lecture, open to all, on Friday, January 31, 2020, from 7 to 9 pm. This two-hour evening session acts as a taster for the day-long workshop, which follows on Saturday, February 1, 2020.

Rev Dr Richard Topping teaches in the areas of Introduction to Theology, Reformation History, Theological Interpretation of Scripture (Hermeneutics), Christian Spirituality and Reformed Theology of the 19th and Twentieth Century. He has published in the areas of theological hermeneutics, homiletics, philosophy of religion, systematic theology and the theologies of John Calvin and Karl Barth. He is currently working on a book which examines the role of the imagination in postmodern theology. He is a regular preacher in the Vancouver area and lecturer across the country in the areas of pastoral leadership and strategic direction.
