Today’s story from Genesis tells of Abraham and Sarah, an elderly couple who have (most of the time) been faithful to God’s call. It is a story of hospitality, doubt, and delayed promise, all wrapped up in the laughter of humour and disbelief; an ancient story of faith, disappointment, and the renewal of expectation.
