United Churches of Langley has been offering yoga classes since February 2016. Our Yoga classes are lead by Langara College Certified yoga teacher, Denise Hay.
Currently, we offer these classes:
Gentle Yoga—Whether new to Yoga or merely prefer a relaxed, gentle practice, Gentle Yoga is for all levels of experience. Leaning on the restorative side, this class offers a focus on breathing, mindfulness, body alignment and deep relaxation. In this class, a chair can be used if needed.
Hatha Yoga — for all levels. With the focus on breathing, mindfulness, body alignment, and always time for relaxation, this class provides adjustments to the needs of individual students. Postures and practices that build strength could involve being on hands and knees.
In the future, Denise might offer the following class in addition to the current offering:
Chair Yoga—a wonderfully gentle Yoga practice with the same focus on breathing, mindfulness, body alignment and relaxation. This class is for anyone interested in increased flexibility and practising basic standing Yoga postures with the use of a chair. We do NOT get down on the floor during any part of this practice.
FALL 2019 SCHEDULE
(September 16 – November 29):
- Mondays 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm: All Level Hatha Yoga (*no classes on statutory holidays)
- Tuesdays 11:30 am - 12:30 pm: Gentle Yoga
- Thursdays 12:30 am - 1:30 pm: All Level Hatha Yoga
All yoga classes are taking place in the Sharon Chapel at United Churches of Langley - Murrayville site, following this payment schedule:
- Drop-in rate $15
- 5 class pass $60
- Free class pass when you bring a new student
