Join us for a time of AWE (Alternative Worship Experience) when we will intertwine amazing jazz music selections with short readings, reflection and conversation celebrating Jazz and its influence on culture, community and church.  Jazz is a perfect framework for exploring the ebb and flow of community life and how to offer relevant theology in an ever-changing world!
Also, join Dave Quinn and the musicians
at Mangia e Scappa afterwards for good food and music!

About April 2nd Featured Musicians:

Laura Crema 
A native of Vancouver, vocalist Laura Crema possesses a lush, unique instrument with great depth and resonance. Her influences are broad and diverse as she blends jazz with popular music, Bossa Nova, original compositions, and improvisations. She has performed and worked with RADIX Theatre, the Karen Jamieson Dance Company, Touchstone Theatre, True North Performance, Olivia Thorvaldson, Grant Strate, Deborah Dunn, Catherine Lee, Jeff Corness, Peter Hannan, Ron Samworth, Cam Wilson, George McFetridge, and more.

Miles Black 
Based in Vancouver, BC, Miles Black is a highly respected career musician bringing an enormous wealth of musical experience and expertise to most every facet of the music industry.  Firstly known as one of Canada's most accomplished jazz pianists, Miles is also highly acclaimed and sought after as an arranger, producer, composer, session musician, guitarist, vocalist, bassist, saxophonist, songwriter, and musical theatre director.  Adding to that, he has worked as a music therapist and collegiate music instructor. Especially in Vancouver, Miles Black is well know as the "first call' when musicians are looking for top professional enhancements to their projects.

Darren Radtke
Darren studied voice at Concordia College and bass at Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton. After moving to Vancouver in 1993, he graduated with a B.Mus in Jazz Studies at Capilano University, and has since been working as a freelance musician. Darren has performed and recorded with musicians Denzel Sinclair, Ernestine Anderson, Cedar Walton, Joanne Brakeen, Buddy Montomery among others, and is a member of the Bill Coon Trio, Brad Turner Trio, and the Sharon Minemoto Quintet.
